IT REALLY IS ALL ABOUT ME

Have you seen this shirt, or purse or notebook? It seems to be everywhere targeting our kids. I must admit I cringe a little every time I see it, wondering what are we teaching this generation? Well, that was until the Lord spoke to me and said, “It really is all about you!”

Your…

• Choices
• Actions
• Behaviors
• Attitudes
• Motives

Now that puts a whole different spin on “it’s all about me.” I have choices to make everyday and in every situation – bottom line – my choices reflect my heart.

The bible is clear, we have choices to make:

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then CHOOSE for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.

Proverbs 8:10
CHOOSE my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold…

James 4:4
…Anyone who CHOOSES to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Deuteronomy 30:19
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now CHOOSE life, so that you and your children may live

GOD MADE HIS CHOICE:

John 15:16
You did not CHOOSE me, but I CHOSE you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

I've seen that saying on shirts and I too, cringed inside. I like your twist - and it's so true!

WOW! What an insight. I too HATE the slogan "It's all about me" because I KNEW it wasn't about me. It was about the Lord and others, not me. When someone else would tell me it was all about them I would agree it was all about them as far as I am concern it was what I could do to be a blessing in their life at that moment. BUT you have a new spin on it. YES!!!! It is about our choices, our attitudes, our
actions, our behaviors, and the motives of why we do things, our hearts. So now I won't cringe as much when I see or hear that slogan. Thanks for sharing what the Lord shared with you.
Have a blessed day!

yes... He certainly gives us that free will, everyday!

That t-shirt reminds me of taking the Beth Moore bible study on DANIEL. She talked about how that was the motto of Babalon. A self focus. She said that if Satan can't get us to worship him, He will try to get us to worship ourselves. WOW!!

I like your post. It reminds me of the Purpose Driven Life book that starts out with it's not about me, it's about God. And there's another book I have by Max Lucado called It's Not About Me. I haven't seen those t shirts yet but I'm sure I will. My son has one that says "I'm the Boss of Me". I always liked it, but we've had some critical comments when he wears it. I always interpreted it to mean just what you shared about how it comes down to how we "choose".

I wanted to tell you that sipping my apricot tea and reading Gavin Goodfellow was a delight! Thank you so much. It is a great book and I am looking forward to the next one.
